While blockchains have been long touted as the solution to decentralize the internet, they have struggled beyond financial applications because of heavy data storage needs of the internet

Since the new internet protocols need money to store the global repository of data, it needs to have a governance model of this funding.

The new internet paradigm needs a design in which content is not stored with the apps but rather on a public, global and shared database

A new internet is needed to address the growing monopolization of the current internet and lack of compensation for the internet's participants.

The original internet protocols just transmitted data but did not store or index it. This lack of storage allowed big tech companies to fill that void.
