More data has been created in the last three years than in all of human history. Each new piece of data is better scaled than the previous, making it inherently more current. The core dilemma for regulators is that every new piece of data not only increases the total amount of information but also reduces the significance of older data, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The applicability of old data relied on years of repetition, but today’s rapidly generated new data will naturally outcompete the old. This continuous flow of new data will shape legal precedents in everything from communication to finance. As long as regulatory texts cling to the past, they are not only stagnating but actively falling behind. : 1 : 0 |
