Great work, thanks for making this effort for the community. @mossified, is it possible to consider improving the UX/UI for users on this page to avoid a bad experience? Maybe something like a function that checks if the fees are more than X% of what the user will receive before confirming the order. If so, a pop-up window could appear explaining the situation and reconfirming if they want to proceed (maybe using the Etherscan API to show the current gas fees). I understand this will add friction, but I think it will boost user confidence. For example, look at the last post on the DeSo page on CoinMarketCap. I'm not saying they're right, but clearly, a significant number of users are expressing disappointment and frustration with the current, sole mechanism for acquiring $DESO, so it might be worthwhile to improve it (at least communication-wise). Perhaps you could ask current users for their opinions to gain insights into the various aspects of their current experience. If I can help in any way, please let me know. : 7 : 0

that is so stupid to use ETH based stable coin, makes me feel mad! I am not buying anything like that via Openfund : 4 : 0

@kanwalcheema - Dec 11, 2024
As far for buying and selling deso on openfund is easy as fuck.. very simple.only thing which trouble people who are having very small bags and that all because of eth gas fees..nothing complicated with openfund. @mossified : 3 : 0 |

@0xAustin use case scenario that I'd like you weigh in on, please: Let's say I'm a Joe-shmo small-time investor who likes the idea of DeSo (like 99% of the ppl here, I think). Let's say I have $100 USD that I'd like to invest in DeSo. Isn't there a way I can just buy DeSo from my bank account/ credit card on one of the DeSo nodes and pay their markup to help support the developers of the node? Didn't this exist in the past? Thanks in advance for your response, if you have the time. Dean : 0 : 0

@Randhir - Dec 14, 2024 AFAIK, there's no easy way to do this. It may have existed on some node in the early Bitclout days. Revolut was working for a few months, but it stopped working once CB delisted DESO because I believe they use CB API in the backend. @NFTz is working on adding Stripe I believe. But it's not live yet. CC: @mvanhalen : 0 : 0

@dreeds - Dec 15, 2024 Thank you @Randhir -- It amazes me that a team so talented as @deso can't figure out / isn't prioritizing an easy way for "average" people to buy in to the platform. I mean, this is supposed to be social media crypto style and that needs a large audience but the hoops for the average person to "put some skin in the game" seem incredibly difficult. I mean, imagine I invited my uncle Doug to join DeSo because of any of the many benefits vs. w2 social networks. He looks at it and says, "heck-um, I'm in-fer $500" How does he even do that without calling @nader to explain the 42 steps? : 0 : 0 |

When DeSo/BTC pair? @mossified : 0 : 0 |
@CarsonLP - Dec 11, 2024
If you want to buy open fund you have to buy deso first with your Usdc. If you want to cash out open fund you receive deso which then has to be sold. It makes it tricky to place a limit order for open fund tokens because your deso is variable so it doesn’t just sit and wait for the limit order to be filled without the value changing : 0 : 0 |
