Depending on the type and severity, mental injuries leave different marks on us humans and thus influence our behavior as we approach our fellow human beings in the future.
Injuries do something to us, and at best, we are left with healed scars.
Unfortunately, for some, these wounds are so deep that they take a long time to heal.
And some never heal.
We all carry these scars and must live with their effects.
It took a lot of work and perseverance so that, despite my injuries, I could approach people again with a loving and open heart.
However, I was just lucky to have been endowed with a certain resilience by nature.
If you don't put up defenses in your attack area and you stand openly, you have nothing to lose, and if you have nothing to lose, you win everything.
These are the scars to grow from that I bear with humility.
Recently, a valuable friendship broke up for me because I let my vanity drive me too much.
I wanted at all costs to flaunt my progress, to prove to myself that I was willing to make myself vulnerable.
And now, I stood there again and looked into my younger self, the inner child that was not yet able to open up and trust other people.
The hurt little girl in me didn't know any better; how could she?
It was never set before her.
You can't have a deep connection with another person if you don't connect with yourself.
The heart and its wounds didn't have time to heal.
It's as simple as it sounds if you don't feel love for yourself, it's difficult for you to accept it from others.
I wish that the people I have hurt that they were able to heal well and that they go through life with loving hearts.
I have to think of my unconditional love for my child; my heart was able to heal.
In the future, I will practice extending this unconditionally to other relationships as well.
Today I feel like a winner because
I finally understood one lesson after a few attempts.
You have to be able to let go when someone decides to keep their heart locked for fear of being hurt.
