Yeah LOL! Although there is a glide formula. Altitude is your friend! As soon as an engine fails we immediately pitch for best glide speed, THEN we troubleshoot the problem while simultaneously looking for a landing spot. An engine out is not necessarily a dooms day scenario. The issue on this particular trip is that we were doing what’s called scud-running to stay out of the clouds so we were only at about 1000 ft above the ground (less at times) and that gives you almost no time to trouble shoot…you just pick a spot right beneath you and set up for your landing. In Arkansa it was all treetops so it was a little harry at times.

Maybe it's just me but I literally had to look up words you used in a Google - visual learner over here 😁 Great descriptive piece for a non-flyer to see experience through your words what you have in reality. No nav lights tho eeek... and run on Wodka made logical sense 🍸😉

My fave was "There is no step. Glad I was a gymnast" coz jeez where's that Queen's steps for a gracious entrance 😂 haha. And then after reading had to top it off with a YT vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmTaEmowo3M which brought it all together for me.
