Never considered this before. It would be a good feature to have. A encrypt and a decrypt option that’s set on the base layer. Or like a block option based on regions.

I'm not sure what the best technical fix is, but we need to find one. Encryption/decryption sounds tricky because once stuff is in the blockchain, it's set in stone, right? So, how do you mess with something that's supposed to be unchangeable? Could we read data from the blockchain only when the private key owner unlocks it with some decryption function? I'm curious to know what @nader and @mossified think about this blog post! https://diamondapp.com/u/Nordian/blog/ensuring-data-privacy-on-deso?feedTab=Hot&tab=posts

It exists! It was launched in the Social Network Hard Fork earlier this year, under the name "Access Groups" (we're trying to find a cooler name for it though, like "DeSo Privacy") https://diamondapp.com/u/deso/blog/the-social-network-hard-fork It's the same tech that powers group messaging with DeSo Chat Protocol: https://diamondapp.com/u/deso/blog/introducing-deso-chat-protocol-the-universal-messaging-framework?feedTab=Hot @petern, our resident boy genius, developed it with some pretty hardcore cryptography that is explained here: https://github.com/deso-protocol/dips/blob/main/dips/dip-8.md I don't think any applications have adopted it for "content" though, but it's definitely possible, and will likely be included in BitClout 2.0 to allow users to be able to do things like encrypted-content for tipping or subscriptions (Patreon, OnlyFans, Passes, etc.)
