Vibrations!! Those vibrations.... I like vibrations! Thin and thicker rubber bands. Shorter thin rubber bands Three rubber bands to test. Tones traveled to my ear drum via my bony finger. The 'bands' had at least two tones and needed adjustment so to make a more pleasant tone to my ear. I was surprised that the interval within each separate bands were not easy to replicate when repeating exercise. The thicker band was lower in pitch ( no surprise) and it's interval was a minor third. The thinner band (Same length as thicker) I could thumb out three 1/2 notes sequence with a jazz rhythm. The small thin band gave a higher pitch (no surprise) gave two distinct pitches but without stretching - just plucking on each band left/right of the band. The sound good for the melody limited to four tones good for pop music. Always fun to make 'music' TRY THIS: stretch the rubber band in front of your mouth and as you pluck the band move your lips for OH and AH. Would you believe me if I told you that SINGING has a lot in common with your experiment? : 3 : 0
