Thanks for this! You bring up a really good point about legalities in general. I think one of the biggest challenges the idea of Web3, and its ability to empower everyday people, faces is going to be navigating the laws. Most people don't have the resources to hire a lawyer to examine their business and keep things compliant. My fear is that it'll be too easy for regulators to come down on innocent people, effectively scaring them out of the space, before it has a chance to take off. We really need Web3 businesses to emerge that can offer services that help people protect themselves from issues like this. Only then will the "average Joe" feel like they have a SAFE chance to compete. : 7 : 4

Thanks for sharing this! Great read. Supernovas seems to be a case that warrants such trepidation moving forward. Robust roadmap, beloved by the community, and somehow the runway vanishes almost immediately after pre-sale with no real warning or recourse for DAO members. Still no clear communication from their team. I am now EXTREMELY reluctant to invest in any DAO as a result, to be real. : 6 : 3

Nice article with a genuine concern being raised. I think one of the “solutions” might be to separate “project” and “company” DAOs. Like constitutionDAO vs MakerDAO. One is meant as a (somewhat) short term project while the other is fixed on a revenue generating “infinite game”. In my mind: specific project DAOs should have less of an issue since there is no “true failure” and the amounts of money involved could be lowered. What do you think? : 0 : 0
