I don’t think many people fully understand it yet, as everyone wants to see the “next decentralized twitter”, but if you can solve the storage and indexing problem in blockchain, and scope it to consumer social - that IMO is a very differentiated value proposition that nobody else has matched. But it’s not the sexiest headline so I get it haha

Although, I would add that I wouldn’t frame it as disrupting Google. But rather taking the learnings to still disrupt decentralized social, but it’s a little more than building a “new Facebook” :)

I think the key difference between the early 2000s and now is that back then information and people were two different things and you can call Google and Facebook as indexes/ search engines on information and people respectively. In the 2020s, information on it's own is going to lose all value because GenAI can create any information in any style. So, only information tied with people who have a credible record on-chain that have gone through the test of markets will be the only way to make sense of the truth of information. That's why DESO's concept of combining social, information, and markets makes a lot of sense to me for this decade. So I guess DESO (or something similar) is going after all social/ content indexers and search engines. Probably this convo is worthy of a blogpost on it's own. Task for tomorrow. : 7 : 1
